We are seeking an Application Security Engineer to join our team at KPMG. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with expertise in conducting security code reviews, implementing application security controls, and supporting secure software development practices.
As our Application Security Engineer you will:
- Perform comprehensive security assessments for web, mobile, and enterprise applications to identify vulnerabilities.
- Conduct detailed code reviews to uncover security flaws and suggest actionable remediation steps.
- Assist in the development of secure coding standards, practices, and tools for teams across the organization.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of long-term security strategies that align with business objectives.
- Implement and maintain technical solutions supporting secure development, including tools and libraries.
- Ensure alignment of documented policies with best practices, such as OWASP ASVS and ISO 27034.
You’re the perfect match for this role if you:
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Have at least 3+ years of relevant work experience in application security or cybersecurity.
- Are fluent in Kazakh, Russian, and English (Intermediate level or higher).
- Possess advanced knowledge of information security principles, controls, and technologies.
- Are well-versed in security best practices, coding standards, and methodologies.
- Have hands-on experience with security tools and frameworks, such as OWASP Top 10 and Burp Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hold certifications like CSSLP, CASE, or GWEB.
- Are proficient in at least two programming languages and frameworks, such as C#, Go, Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell.
- Have expertise with audits and standards like the OWASP ASVS and ISO 27034.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of web and mobile application security concepts.
