Deloitte Consulting seeks highly qualified candidates for the anticipated USAID-funded Regional Connectivity Project in Central Asia. This five-year activity will aim to regional connectivity and cooperation among the five countries of Central Asia, while building linkages with the United States and beyond.

Deloitte is recruiting for Central Asian Energy Sector Specialists to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the energy and environment sector, with a proven track record of working on international development projects. The role involves providing technical expertise and strategic guidance in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing strategies to enhance energy sector to address energy shortages, supply disruptions, and infrastructure vulnerabilities, with a significant emphasis on energy security and the industrial sector.
  • Leading initiatives that promote the increased adoption of resilient energy practices, emphasizing renewable energy sources and energy efficiency techniques.
  • Supporting initiatives to increase energy trade within the Central Asia region.
  • Monitoring and assessing the impacts within trade and economic markets on energy infrastructure and supply chains.
  • Introducing innovative solutions for efficient energy management, considering both conservation and the challenges posed by changing climate patterns.
  • Collaborate with local and international stakeholders and project partners to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress and manage risk, ensuring alignment with USAID goals and objectives.
  • Create a positive working environment for all staff and ensure fair professional growth and training opportunities for team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate should have on-the-ground energy sector experience in Central Asia. Candidate understands post-Soviet energy trade and sector restructuring.
  • BA or MA in Engineering, International Development, Energy and Sustainability, Economics, Policy or a related field.
  • At least seven years of experience in the energy sector.
  • Experience working with USAID or other donor-funded programs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience providing relevant expertise and leadership on development programs, preferably with USAID and in the Central Asia region.
  • English proficiency (written and spoken) and excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Country of residence: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
