Key responsibilities of Government Affairs Manager include:
Coordinate and follow up actions required as per the established governance process between the shareholders of ALMTG.
Act as a key interface between ALMTG and the local public authorities with regards to the relevant business matters.
Develop and execute and plan to actively engage and collaborate with government and public authorities. Engage the company’s management where necessary. These activities include representing the company’s interests in specified organizations, assisting in obtaining and maintaining permits and licenses of any kind necessary for the company’s activities in Kazakhstan as well as organizing and conducting meetings with government officials and other officials to promote and support the company’s business. His/her work will include daily interaction with relevant authorities and organizations, preparation of necessary documentation, reports. In addition, he/she is responsible for collecting the necessary information that is requested by government authorities.
Manage the company’s membership in associations or industrial communities: justify the need to join an association, set the targets to be achieved through such membership and monitor actions with the relevant business leader.
Participate in community events when necessary.
Skills:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited university in Law or Government Relations or Communications; alternatively - three years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience with project management and event coordination preferred.
Knowledge of structure of the government bodies and their respective competencies.
Team Work: ability to interact and collaborate seamlessly with all levels of the organization.
Written Communication: writes clearly and informatively (mainly in English and Russian, sometimes Kazakh); edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs.
Verbal Communication: ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees of the organization (mainly in English and Russian, sometimes Kazakh).
Language Skills: advanced level of English, Russian and Kazakh.
