We’re currently seeking an ambitious Intern to join our ESG & Sustainability team at KPMG in Astana. In this role, you’ll support a range of ESG advisory projects, helping clients with climate risk management, governance, greenhouse gas management, and sustainability performance improvement.

As an Intern in ESG & Sustainability, you will:

• Assist with ESG advisory projects, evaluating sustainability performance and preparing non-financial reports in alignment with international standards and frameworks.
• Gather, organize, and analyze ESG data, focusing on climate risks and greenhouse gas emissions, to support client strategies and objectives.
• Contribute to the preparation of client-facing presentations, reports, and materials, communicating key findings and actionable recommendations.
• Conduct research on ESG trends, regulatory developments, green finance, and industry best practices to support diagnostics and assessments for clients.

You’re the Perfect Match if You:

• Have a passion for ESG, sustainability, and data-driven problem-solving.
• Are currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Statistics, or a related analytical field.
• Have foundational analytical skills and an eagerness to work with large datasets to generate insights.
• Are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Have a curiosity to learn about ESG principles, frameworks, and consulting practices.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and can present data clearly.
• Are fluent in English (Upper Intermediate or above), with proficiency in Russian and Kazakh.
