Middle/Senior Java Backend Developer

The Astana International Financial Centre Authority is seeking a Middle/Senior Java Backend Developer to join our Technology Department. This role is critical to delivering and supporting scalable, robust software solutions. You will lead the backend development lifecycle - from conception and architecture to deployment and maintenance - while ensuring high standards of performance, security, and reliability.

• Develop high-quality software design and architecture.

• Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks across the software development lifecycle.

• Document and demonstrate solutions by producing clear technical documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and clean code.

• Ensure all software remains current with the latest technologies.

• Maintain application performance, uptime, responsiveness, and scalability.

• Uphold high standards of code quality and application design.

• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

• Work closely with DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment pipelines.

• Implement robust security and data protection measures, maintaining compliance with industry standards.

• Design user interactions on websites.

• Develop backend website applications.

Qualification requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, Software Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software development.

• Certifications in software development, ITSM, or desktop administration are a plus.

Skills & competencies:

• Strong programming and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in Spring Boot, Maven, PostgreSQL, and Git.

• Familiarity with REST, RPC, and SOAP APIs.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes is a plus).

• Experience with message queues like RabbitMQ or Kafka is a plus.

• Knowledge of system design, backend logic, and API integration.

• Ability to lead and collaborate in Agile environments.

• Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills.

• Experience in technical team leadership is an advantage.

• Language proficiency in Kazakh, Russian, and English.
