Requirements for a Senior English Teacher for Courses Preparing Students for Canadian High School Admission:

Education and Qualifications:

• A higher education degree in linguistics, English teaching, or related disciplines.
• International teaching certifications (TESOL, CELTA, TEFL) are highly preferred.
• A degree from a Canadian or internationally recognized institution is an advantage.
• Must be a graduate of the Bolashak International Scholarship Program

Experience:

• At least 3-5 years of experience in teaching English, particularly to high school students.
• Proven experience in preparing students for international exams (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge Exams).
• Practical experience in an international education setting (e.g., Canadian schools or preparatory programs).

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong expertise in teaching English as a foreign language using modern pedagogical approaches.
• Ability to customize teaching materials to meet the unique needs of students.
• Excellent communication skills and an aptitude for working effectively with teenagers.
• Experience in incorporating interactive teaching methods and modern technology into lessons.

Language Proficiency:

• Fluent English, with a proficiency level of C1 or higher (native or bilingual speakers are preferred).

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver curriculum aligned with International educational standards.
• Prepare students for CIS (Canadian International School) entrance exams and help them adapt to the Canadian educational system.
• Provide individualized consultations for students and their families.
• Monitor and assess students’ academic progress regularly.

Additional Requirements:

• Leadership skills.
• Willingness to contribute to the development of long-term programs and courses.
• Ability to collaborate with team members and establish partnerships with Canadian schools.

Key Considerations:

The teacher should have or develope a deep understanding of the Canadian educational system and preparation for Grades 10-12.

About Canada House:

On April 10th 2022, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Canada was celebrated, on the date of this significant event, the Public Charitable Foundation "The Ulytau Educational Foundation" proudly presented the first project of its kind in the Central Asian republics - Canada House.

Canada House was born in response to the social demand and ever-growing interest within the Republic of Kazakhstan in obtaining a world-class education in the best educational institutions of Canada.

Working closely with the Foundation's sister project, Canadian International School, the first non-profit high school in Kazakhstan and Central Asia to offer a British Columbia Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma), Canada House was the home for the school during the 2022-2023 academic year, helped its formation and facilitated its launch at a new location for the 2023-24 academic year and the near future.

Canada House is a one-of-a-kind project that aims to raise awareness of the benefits of Canadian education. Starting from 2024 everyone will be able to get objective information about Canadian educational institutions, get acquainted with the culture of the country and visit events organized by our team.

Within the framework of the project, open days, consultations, presentations of educational institutions, exhibitions and meetings are held by Canada House. We firmly believe that the uniqueness of the project, the professionalism of our employees and partnerships with leading educational institutions in Canada will allow each visitor to find answers to their questions.
